Estimates of long-COVID prevalence among children infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been highly variable, ranging from as low as 1.6% to as high as 70% in some studies, with most studies reporting a range of 13% to 25%
Even the very lowest estimate of 1.6% is dramatically high for a debilitating condition. Imagine if 1.6% of kids were losing the use of their legs from Polio!
But assuming 13%-25% is more accurate than 1.6% or 70%:
Common conditions included fatigue (85%), headache (75.2%), dizziness (64.5%), anxiety (62.1%), nausea (59.3%), and abdominal pain (38.8%).
85% of kids with Long COVID have fatigue.
85% of kids with Long COVID have fatigue!
And it is NOT that the kids are just complaining. Fatigue might sometimes be subjective, but orthostatic hypotension is easy to objectively test, and 3/10 kids with Long COVID have orthostatic hypotension!
