@cvtsi2sd On a recent holiday in Italy I was happy to see that my C plug fit into the L socket with its third hole. I had to force it a bit so I thought I'm doing something dangerous. But that page says they are made to be compatible... so... phew :-)

    @compfu uh sorry, I got it all mixed up, in my head type C was Schuko, but it's actually the Europlug. Yes, it's explicitly meant to be compatible with type L (and many others), in Italy I think pretty much nobody even knows the difference between a type C and an ungrounded 10 A type L. Yes, it does require some more force to insert compared to a true type L, because the type C pins are slightly angled (to be compatible with several different sockets, I think even the elasticity is specified).
