@rnd I thought it was pretty neat. Contributor poker is not a single-project or single-ecosystem thing. You make sure that newbie contributor has a good time, and they’ll contribute to FOSS again in general. Another project treating their contributors well? They’ll be more likely to contribute to other projects, including yours.
It’s a good thing, wrapped up in language that even selfish people can understand, including corpos. Other than that I can’t really see a problem with it. (Open to being challenged on this.)

@copygirl nah, it's alright, i'm just feeling personally frustrated, i understand that it's a good idea in general, just that it, imo, happens to mesh poorly with my personal flow i occasionally express a similar frustration about the fact that so many problems in the world are social problems in disguise and thus i (having poor social skills and aged beyond the range where new skills are easy to acquire) am poorly suited to solving them -- doesn't mean it's a bad thing in general just feeling like someone who spent way too long leveling up the wrong way and now struggles against things that others don't
