@ida light themes aren't bad, Discord's light theme specifically was just so bad that it drove an entire meme into existence around dark themes being the ideal computing experience and light themes being awful, when it's really just Discord's UI design team being bad at their jobs.

@zoey yeah there's nothing inherently bad about light themes, it's just i've been a dark-theme darrel for a long time; one of my first few phones had an amoled display so i became used to pure black themes, then i wanted the same vibe both on my little and large rectangles and just never changed afterwards
