@enthusiast101 @nachtfunke @jaffathecake Safari use out of the US is minimal. Even in the US, most of iPhone owners use Chrome. Alternative Chrome engine browsers can help, if they choose to not use this. I'm pretty sure some of them will not. Let's hope Google don't make life harder to them by integrating it deeply into the engine. But the only real barrier to Chrome total dominance is Firefox. Other browser engines are on the way, but it will take years for them to be competitive, if they get there.

@jgg @nachtfunke @jaffathecake This is not the case for Mac, but iphones specifically mandate that all browsers use the safari engine internally. This is not the case in EU due to regulation, but Apple enforces this everywhere else. So even chrome and Firefox use the safari engine on iphones specifically in most places in the world. Though you're right that other browsers are being developed, and Firefox is still a thing that is used. Also I'm not sure how much junk Google can stuff deeply into chromium without facing major backlash. Especially given the existence of things like electron and Microsoft Edge. They could absolutely do it, but would face backlash.
