@jaffathecake I don't get why this requires a web API in the first place. What's wrong with just using existing ways to send a request somewhere and get a response? This feels like leveraging Chrome marketshare to push adoption of Gemini, since implementing the API with anything else will likely cause interop issues.

@jonsneyers @jaffathecake for on device local AI the models would have to be shipped with the browser or the operating system, because it would be unreasonable for a web page to download a 4Gb model
