This doesn't bother me too much. Little kids have a hard time saying "grandmother/grandfather" and then those little names endure into old age.
I called my maternal grandparents Nana and Papa (they lived closer and I saw them much more frequently), but my paternal grandparents Grandma and Grandpa.

Ah, I'm referring to many (boomer-age, I'd say for the most part) grandmothers that I knew who INSISTED on being called anything but "grandma." Now whenever I see these other nicknames I have to wonder how many of them hate the term for some reason. ("It makes me feel old!" :pika_wut:)
