This is probably a question for @chemjobber , but does anyone know the per-capita number of chem PhDs? I have a researcher from the small Caribbean island of Dominica who is headed off to a doctoral program and I think it’s possible he’ll be the first from the island to do so

@GetzlerChem@mstdn.science wow! 1. Sorry for the slow response 2. The number of worldwide PhD chemists is probably measured at maximum in the 250,000* range (that's an overestimate) so there's your numerator. *5000/year X 50 years globally
