I adore my coffee machine and rice cooker for being exactly that; not only they don't need any wi-fi, they don't contain any microchips whatsoever, the most intelligent thing in them are some bimetallic strips and clicky switches.

@max@manmachine.me my espresso machine is sadly riddled with proprietary firmware, but at least it's not remotely upgradeable, though sadly not locally alterable in an opensource way either @Aphrodite@chaos.social
