It's weird that a couple years ago I was living someplace where folk would infer which length of the road you lived on and who your neighbors were because of your phone number.
Like that was really common when I was growing up because of land-lines, but these days, no one's phone number really *means* anything.
Thinking about it because people legit text my phone presuming I'm the neighbor of this person, and I'm not. But. I do know their number, and the number of their nephew and such, so I do forward any relevant communications.
And it just feels very... very ancient, as a practice.

And this post is actually a post about genocide and concentration camps, even though I didn't do a good job talking about it, because my phone number is still a Pine Ridge Indian Reservation phone number, and it's demonstrative of how forcibly impoverished folk are that that the phone tech is literally like 50 years behind.
I don't post enough about it because it makes me feel gross the way folk react but Americans do not understand that there are legit warzones within their own continental territory.
