So, this is going to be awkward. I'm choking on acid reflux while trying to write this post, which has been inspired by the rant of a sixteen year old, that I just now witnessed, about 5 minutes ago. This is directed towards arrogant, self- absorbed artists that have a particular ideology about art and what it should be, who it should be for, economic value, etc. it's going to be vague, but, I trust that it will sink in where it needs to (and, maybe only my friends will end up reading this, and take no offense at all, because I'm blessed that none of you are self absorbed anuses) Here it goes: "So, you went and disgusted a whole swathe of impressionable, creative youth with your social media displays of self importance and privilege. You shot down the starry eyed artistic dreamers. You looked at their creations and offered what you think was a top notch artistic critique meant to single out the 'worthy' from the 'unworthy'. You brag about your work, how much you're entitled to charge, and then you seal off your mutual admiration circle so that none can really mingle with you or learn and interact. You think your opinions are nuggets of gold, you mistook opinion for wisdom. You aren't inspiring anyone, and at best, you come off as propagandists, unartistic, uncreative people, who are boring, snooty, bitter and uncompassionate. The teens see right through you."
