@dabeaz now, a teacher is a more human, personalized version of a walkthrough. They know where all secrets are, they had their fun, but they aren't there to give the steps to succeed. They just need to unblock the player and make them have the most fun possible. I don't know where to go with this analogy, but: teachers and knowledge aren't going anywhere, though they won't be the easiest way to play the game anymore -- but they'll be the guide to the most fulfilling path.
