capable to export oil fine to the north it's only the route to the south that is cut.
Now turning off oil wells is not something that is easy. At best it's expensive, at worst irreversible.
So they are desperate to get rid of their surplus of oil/gas.
And the only method they can optimise: tankers. How? Make run short routes to their destinations, which means more deliveries per month per tanker.

@Felis_Catus_Domesticus Sigh, which economic "block" as the English press likes to call it, just north of the gulf a reasonable bug and wealthy buyer of fossils? Who loses out from the spoils? Places further away like eg. Asia or America -> the limited tanker capacity makes deliveries there unattractive. Notice that e.g. India seems to have already a deal with Iran so that Indian flagged tankers can pass the Street of Hormuz unattacked. @VeroniqueB99
