There's this old Asterix comic book (can't find it) where Romans try to clear the sacred forest around the Gaul village, but Asterix can re-grow the trees faster than they are getting cut down, using magic acorns. And so there's this exchange where the guy tasked with cutting the trees down points to a huge stack of timber saying "Look at all the trees we cut down!" and the exasperated Roman commander replies "We pay you for clearing the forest, not for bringing in more timber". I think about that scene a lot now in the context of corporate LLM use.
