For my move, I wanted to leave myself more time for packing and everything rather than hire a standard shipping company to move my things. I'd do all the labor and save some money and guarantee my stuff is not damaged, like we've had with previous movers. Overall, it probably was cheaper. At least, if they hadn't messed up the billing. Granted, I did make a mistake originally getting the smaller container which I swapped after two days since they don't have the middle option for long haul. What they do is quote a total and bill individual parts as each stage of moving happens. An initial delivery fee, the main shipping fee, and a final delivery fee. There's also a rental fee for one month included somewhere in there. It turns out that the rental and initial delivery are in the first charge, and even though I swapped containers pretty quickly, the rental fee didn't transfer. I got double charged for only using one pod at a time, regardless for how long I actually used it.

I would understand having a separate delivery cost for the hassle of swapping containers, but not extra rental costs. Not to mention that after I scheduled the shipping to Oregon, they never updated me when it arrived at the warehouse, nor was I informed they can't actually deliver at this address specifically because the lot is private to the leasing company and the main road is too busy to obstruct for city council to approve. Unless they can deliver to a nearby side street, I may need to rent a U-Haul or whatever to their warehouse not too far away really. Either way, I need to rent a truck for that because I'm not carrying stuff blocks away. I just got off an hour long call about the issues and they are going to credit me back for the extra charges (I don't know how much yet) and we'll have to work out something for what can be done for final delivery if possible. Uy... I kind of feel cheated but they are working to fix things at least. I just want my stuff back...
