I think it's also important to note that Terrence Tao is the co-founder of SAIR, an 'AI for science' and 'science for AI' focused non-profit, whose upcoming events are sponsored by Marc Andreesen's venture capital firm A16Z. Andreesen is, of course, a Trump-funding billionaire influential in the AI sphere. I am in no way trying to imply that Tao has had his public statements swayed by this sponsorship, but rather that the interest shown in SAIR by venture capital is an indication that Tao's public statements on AI and its role in the future of mathematics are, at the very least, seen by AI billionaires as non-adversarial. https://siliconreckoner.substack.com/p/who-speaks-for-mathematics
