It’s not a full-fledged argument, but I was just thinking how a standard narrative is “early computers were so large they filled complete rooms, then came the personal computing revolution, and now we carry computers much more powerful in our pockets” when actually the way we use our mobile computers they are again input/output terminals of computers that fill entire rooms (or halls, really).

@felwert@fedihum.org That's a good thought. It seems we are entering a time where computers are everywhere, also driven by AI. Spatial AI, or Ambient Intelligence are two new expressions here. Add smart glasses, rings and soon physical AI as Humanoid Robots to that mix.

@felwert@fedihum.org This degrading of computers to terminals has a bit of deja-vu. But this time "input" and "output" gets blurry as well as "in", "out" and "direction".
