@hotdogsladies I was at a formative point in my adult life when Matt Smith came along (and his debut was also when my then-fiance started watching), and I *really* vibed on Peter Capaldi, because he seemed to be a throwback to the Doctors of my youth. But yeah, Tom Baker is the all-timer. I started watching on PBS in kindergarten (which seems insane now but I’ve been told was utterly normal for kids in the UK); they were running Jon Pertwee episodes at the time, but I probably only saw a small handful before they got to the end of his run. I remember being crushed and confused by the change of actor, but Baker won me over. When I think of Doctor Who, he’s who comes to mind.
