After 15+ years of solid use I'm finally giving up on #Homebrew on MacOS; it was once the first thing I installed on any new Mac but now it's hindering me running older-but-still-capable machines. The surprising thing so far has been how little I'm missing it.

@alecmuffett@mastodon.social what are using instead of Homebrew? It’s been a vital part of my bringing up a new MacBook process for 10+ years. I’m less concerned about supporting older SW versions, but my last Gen intel based MacBook is still more than capable and not getting replaced anytime soon.
