I see people losing their minds because Threads has, at least for some time, disconnected itself from mastodon.social. It looks like it was a mistake. This time. If this is a surprise to you, you were not paying attention. I warned you exactly one year ago: https://ploum.net/2023-06-23-how-to-kill-decentralised-networks.html This will happen again. This will, at some point, happen definitively. The question is not "will it?" but "when?". Small reminder: The Fediverse is more than Mastodon. Mastodon is more than mastodon.social.
