I'm sure I'm doing a lot of fundamentally misunderstanding what Discordianism is and is about. I feel like probably a lot of this is coming from me feeling strongly that "gosh, SOMEBODY ought to do something like this" and making the not-really-well-justified assumption that "surely the Discordians would aim for this". ... Maybe I shoulda taken this feeling to the toki-ponists instead. Tho they'd probably just build towards some fascinating intricate system of distinguishable-yet-not-specifically-intepretable shades of grey about "very few moon-orbits" or "most of a solar-orbit" that I'd barely be ableto make hears or tails of...

UPDATE on this: I have the beginning of an idea about this. This is just the structure -- I haven't picked out any of the numbers yet, so the specifics can be any number of similar shapes -- but I /think/ I should be able to get this to function as an asymptotically-solar calendrical system, with the new years occuring pseudo-randomly around the seasons (well, each separate new-years rotating largely predictably around). If I pick the fractions prime-ly enough, it /should/ take a pretty decently long time before it loops. Cicadas, you know. Leap days are... not a problem, but don't have a natural fit. Not sure whether to put them separately, or if not how to decide which sub-year to put them in. But, like, it can be arbitrary. Arbitrary is fine. ... maybe we just put them in the quickest year. That feels nice.
