UPDATE on this: I have the beginning of an idea about this. This is just the structure -- I haven't picked out any of the numbers yet, so the specifics can be any number of similar shapes -- but I /think/ I should be able to get this to function as an asymptotically-solar calendrical system, with the new years occuring pseudo-randomly around the seasons (well, each separate new-years rotating largely predictably around). If I pick the fractions prime-ly enough, it /should/ take a pretty decently long time before it loops. Cicadas, you know. Leap days are... not a problem, but don't have a natural fit. Not sure whether to put them separately, or if not how to decide which sub-year to put them in. But, like, it can be arbitrary. Arbitrary is fine. ... maybe we just put them in the quickest year. That feels nice.
