i finally managed to fix the thing where it cant change any default applications in windows
you see, microsoft added a fucking kernel driver called uh "user-choice protection driver" which does the opposite of what it says, which blocks anything not signed by MS from editing registry keys for stuff,
(their genius software also broke when i tried to do it using the "change defaults" settings menu-)
it also blocks if you try to use MS signed tools to change it yourself, like regedit.exe
the name of it is funny though, whoever made that should reconsider their carrier choices, and become a politican instead
.. my fix was just to delete UCPD.sys and create a new directory called UCPD.sys in its place.
