First time I open up a PS4 controller to try and fix it.
Under the dpad and 4 buttons there's a silicone membrane with contact pads. Press button and you "pop" the contact out.
The silicone ruptured for my ➡️, so it was contacting at the slightest press, and when pushing ⬆️ 🥺

Did some jury rigging with superglue and a thin "rope" of cotton fiber to patch the hole. It's far from perfect. No more satisfying "click" and not as sensitive as it used to be. But for navigating jrpg menus it should do. Will try to buy replacement silicone. ... am kinda proud tho 😊
