Thanks for taking the time to respond to this so thoughtfully.
My point, and my only point pretty much was about when I see people attacking fans for being fans without any effort to engage, enlighten, or inform them. Yes, there are some people who don't understand, but there are also people that just hear the noise of someone attacking them for something that they love without explanation and that closes their mind to what it's all about

@Aaidanbird The people like yourself who are rationally, thoughtfully, explaining and engaging on the subject are not (forgive me but this is the only phrase I can come up with) the problem. It is the people who attack first, don't attempt to understand or engage, but are simply out to attack Rowling and anyone who might possibly say anything kind about her work Thanks for the recommendation of other series and other books, I've added them to my to read list.
