I've been a macos (then ios/ipados) dev for a bazillion years, mostly on UX stuff. One thing that a lot of apps used to have, that no one talks about were platform integrations, like surprising abilities at drag/drop outside and into the app.
open the old text app, for example and even then you could drag files it didn't support into the document window. What would be dropped is the filepaths of the finder items you dragged in.

@godofbiscuits so many details fading away. I always try to think deeply about integration: hard work, but worthwhile. This one has a lot of care and attention but only a little integration. But then it's a USB analyser so what can I do. You can eject disks with it, or leave it open for activity tracking and issue notifications.
