Well, here's where I get off, Evernote.
I've used you for over 14 years but I'm not paying £154.90 to be able to have more than 1000 notes and AI features that I don't want to use.
I'm heading for Joplin, synching with stuff I've already got.
UPDATE: Now looking like Obsidian.

While I say Joplin in the original post, I am open to a few others to try out, so long as they're not US big tech. I've been trying out Joplin with a few of my Evernote notebooks, and the bigger issue for me is web clipping on mobile at the moment. I tend to clip things like recipe web pages, because they don't stick around forever.

@emkingma@mstdn.social Nice! I'm lucky enough to not have legacy knowledge in Evernote. But I've been using #Joplin for a few years across Linux, Windows, iOS, iPadOS & Android. I even #selfhost my own Joplin server instance. The client apps are a bit basic, but server sync is robust.
