@zenbeater A good start is https://www.davidrevoy.com/index.php?tag/hardware -- personally, I still use an Intuos 3 with my main linux desktop and for fun and drawing a Movinkpad with Android, so my personal experience isn't all that relevant.
(I never got the enormous CIntiq we got because there was a bug in the Wacom Windows drivers to work well with Linux... Also not really with Windows, MacOS was fine. But it's outside your budget anyway.)

@halla Thank you! Those look good. In the end, I think I'll go for a XPPen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2)! It's likely a bit more than what I need, but then again it will allow for my potential to grow.
