(finishing the transcript) here 'young girl' means nineteen, if you were wondering. to answer the question: i'm satisfied with this narrative voice because it was the result of patient, hard work. it's very different from my regular voice, which is fairly unremarkable, so it requires some effort to get into the right persona. but an uncommon voice is something that sets a book apart, so i consider it worthwhile.
