It's kind of like industrial machinery. It has to work, & only rarely take your hand off if you're careless. Pretty is for the end-user.

@mdhughes Nope, I've been examining the "native" GUI second of what the kids use these days. And compared to the dark mode shite that the Rustafarians et al. produce, Blender is basically System 7. And it's not just the looks, it's the inefficient functionality, if all you have is a button… Well done industrial machines usually are quite clever in arranging their inputs to prevent bad usage. Granted, often there's a focus on preventing worst cases instead of ultimate efficiency for normal use, but at least it's an ethos.
