@mweagle Yeah, @rstephensme knows what she's talking about. Something I just mentioned as a throwaway line (something like "writing code was never the hard part") in https://www.infoq.com/presentations/responsible-development-ai-hype/ is examined with much more depth and thoughtfulness by her here.

@justinsheehy @rstephensme Agree & thanks for sharing. A bias towards point-in-time, individualistic & measurable artifacts (PRs, lines, batch size) could make code-level AI seem like a productivity boost. This is an output lens. Those with a bias towards reliable systems, where teams of people collectively understand how to evolve a system to meet new demands and exploit new capabilities, seem more likely to view code-level AI as actively detrimental. This is more an outcome lens.
