@PatternChaser what does the term “overdiagnosis” even *mean*? Like. Nobody seems to be claiming misdiagnosis, i.e. that diagnoses are incorrect. If it’s “more than the system can handle” doesn’t that just show us that the system was never built for reality? Diagnosis is just an observation of reality. This bone is broken, that skin is bruised, that lung is punctured, this person is unresponsive. Maybe you want less people to have broken legs, but not counting them doesn’t change how many there are

    @loops When people say "over-diagnosis", they refer to what they see and understand as fraud — a cheating diagnosis to obtain "benefits". This, even though such benefits rarely exist! People don't like to see other people given a helping hand; it makes them feel angry that their own taxes are 'misused' in this way... 😢 Humans are horrible people. 🤷
