I love steam as much as the next guy but monopolies are bad and we should support other businesses when we can. When Gabe dies who knows what happens to all the steam games you “own”

My grocery store is a monopoly, the products in it aren’t. I don’t want to shop at 1000 different stores that will all sell my information to brokers. If you do, that’s fine, shopping around gets cheaper prices but you pay with your time. I’ll keep shopping at the one store.

Agree to that, bought games like Factorio and Vintage Story straight from the developer instead of through steam. It does help when the game natively supports Linux, if it doesn’t then yeah Steam it is.
