I fear that early access will kill this. Sure it will provide some money that might pay for the rest of the development, but streamers will play it now - der that it is literally work in progress in vast parts and maybe take another look once it finally releases, but the hype will be gone at the release.

“The hype will be gone argument” seems irrelevant. This is not some live-service games. They don’t really need to be continuous growfth of fans. Almost all games with continous growth have some predatory system. As long their business is sustainable, they can finish continue their journey even when things get dip a bit.
