@mcnutt Oh, same here. I think it was the Maxis games that did it. Chaim Gingold's latest, Building SimCity, has more SFI stories that are pretty incredible. You're right that service-disciplinarity is a departure from the old systems thinking. If it's design, then vis is not domain-agnostic, yet it doesn't get absorbed into any one science; nor journalism, psychology, anthropology. We share a belief that data is data; that is, my data is not unlike your data. That's a big ol' systems rhetoric.
