phew, just almost got got by a spam email
looked like a authentic namecheap email that tells you your domain is about to expire, mentioned the precise domain name I have, arrived at the right time (early may is approximately when this one comes up for renewal). I clicked the link and went straight to a payment page. the lack of requirement of a login step threw me off guard and that made me look more closely and notice the incorrect domain name and the "Hi Dear," in the email salutation (something that I normally completely skip past while skimming!)

@tendstofortytwo@social.treehouse.systems tbh anything that wants money from me I never click on the mail links, I always visit the pages myself But I was the target of harpooning working at my last job, so it was a practice that was essential to me not causing a major incident
