YMCAHousing: 'Y:Cube is a modular housing scheme in London offering accommodation for 36 young people that is both affordable and supports young people to live independently. Built in 2015, what makes the development of this scheme so special is that most of the work is completed away from the site. Each home is manufactured in a factory in Derbyshire before being transported to London. They are highly energy efficient and the project was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize and has won multiple innovation awards. Working with a supportive local authority, the local YMCA were able to deliver this impressive and much needed housing scheme in under a year. The young people who live there include Martin.
