@Quasit @illogical_me @rootschange no, misunderstanding. IETF stands for Internet Engineering Task Force. A consortium standardizing protocols around the internet. Matrix is also involved in other standards like MIMI for instance, but is not standardized itself. When they started Matrix, they didn’t want to follow the standard explicitly.
