If CopyFail was big news in the IT world, and some thought it rivalled Y2K. Then why didn't it even register as a fart on any mainstream media?
Someone is a fluffy bunny in this story. IT people, or the mainstream media. I haven't worked out who?

Or, is this a reality I don't understand? Are both mutually exclusive on this? Yes, it's huge. No, the media won't touch it. Ars technica covered it, and that's the level of public interest it needs.

@rood@aus.social The mainstream media need angles with wide appeal. If it can't spark outrage or self-interest, it's spiked. "Someone somewhere made a mistake years ago that under certain specific circumstances lets a person with a login to a Linux system take over that system" is not really a main stream media story...
