it's always bemusing that people get so irrationally mad at jsonld simply existing. i guess if you assume everyone agrees with you and is doing exactly the same thing as you, then it's probably superfluous, but because it exposes the inherent complexity that most people choose to ignore, it gets blamed for the existence of the problems that it gives you tools to solve.
"oh, if everyone would just..." lemme stop you there. Everyone Will Not Just. you are going to encounter disagreements.

@trwnh@mastodon.social i fear you've probably answered this question before (maybe i even asked it before) but wouldn't most if not all of json-ld also be possible to represent with XML? trying to find comparisons between JSON-LD and XML only leads me to (plain) JSON vs. XML comparisons.
