@kupaye I think this may have been true in English, before the industrial revolution Maybe a linguist or historian can step in and say We had the noun 'work', with a meaning similar to now -- a thing that is completed, a thing that is made. 'Works of art,' 'ironwork,' etc And we may have had the verb, used to describe specific things, such as woodworking, or ironworking But I think that generalized distinction, between times when you are working and times when you are doing stuff that is not work, may not have been a part of how people thought about life. (Although there were concepts like laziness, and frittering away your time....) Certainly not the idea that cooking, cleaning, etc, in the home were not work!
