@jenbanim My father is very renowed engenier, and one day he decided a wall on our living room wasted some some space.
Problem : it was a bearing wall.
So he concieved a steel beam to replace the wall, then he build a real size replica in wood to check if it was suistanable; and then he commissioned a Polish steel mill to build it.
Then, he put shores, and with the help of on of his older friend [Note : my father was then 50 and his friend 70], they destroyed the wall, pierce the upper floor, tracted together the beam (it weights something like 200 kg), fixed it, refill all holes and now their living roomhas gained 10m².
