@RoelandDeVries @wesley Any action which removes the notification from Notification Center is deleting the notification. This cache is so your notifications can still be shown, e.g, after you reboot the phone. Data which applications hand to an OS might be saved by that OS. People should be warned about that because it’s non-obvious, but it really shouldn’t be surprising that the data can get there. It was surprising how long the data could stay there, and that’s because the OS didn’t clean up the cache properly. Bug? Absolutely. “Vulnerability” is a stretch.

  • @bob_zim @wesley thanks! Yes I agree that's what should be expected when handig over data to the OS. So now the only way iOS retains a notification is when you don't act upon it at all. And afaik it keeps history for a week, so even if you don't act on it the notification is deleted after a week.
