Realisation: in the field of 'task management' (a.k.a. getting stuff done), there are two distinct classes of decision to be made. First is the decision of how and where to file this 'task'. You've had _some idea_. Is it a critical task that must be done by a date? Is it a vague idea that you might like to explore one day? Or is it something in between? This decision – where to put this thing – is entirely separate from the second decision. Which is, what do I work on now? The first decision is the one we so often avoid, because in many ways it's more difficult. But if we spend more time here, we create a lovely neat system that enables the second decision. And of course it's in the second decision where the actual work gets done. Am drawing this out in Monodraw. 🤓
