Firefox started to show weather in empty tabs without asking me. It asked if I want to see weather in my location. Options are "Not now" and "Yes". Clicking on "Not now" made it show weather in New York. Naturally there is no option "I don't want to see weather in empty tabs".
Another example of hostile UI design and decline of Firefox.

@cos I wouldn't be surprised if they used the data to find out more about their user base, which would be a violation of European data protection laws. I have not investigated how the data is used, but the fact that I more or less expect this from Mozilla is very telling, unfortunately.
