This is why i never went into science, even though i had top grades in all of those subjects. The arrogance. I mean, there is this tiny little being on this tiny little speck of dust in this marvelous unfathomably large organism and it has these tiny little dim ideas about said unlimited organism. And when some dimwit observation with limited instruments doesn't meet it's idea, it asks, whether the universe is broken? I know what's broken. And that is the culture behind that I do get excited sometimes about science, espc. astrophysics. I do read about quantum physics and stuff and it's really interesting, But its a lot of groping around in the dark. And if something works as expected, we don't know why it does that. That much is obvious to me. And in to that dark, science projects its own ideas.The limitations of the culture their from. And if you can't be aware of that, as a scientist, you are woefully blind.It always looked to me, like if that whole area requires a good portion of that blind arrogance in order to be in it and be aligned with your peers and the general values.
