“Where are the cyclists?” They ask.
Here’s the evidence from the machine at Ngauranga just out of Wellington, 1314 hours on 10/04/2026.
This is, I might add:
1. A school holiday day which will mean slightly lower numbers than usual.
2. Middle of the day so missing the evening commute numbers for today.
3. *Prior* to the opening of the new Te Ara Tupua Cycleway that connects this route to Lower Hutt safely and separated from the 100km/h car route (which cyclists on this route are currently in the gutter of).

@SimonCHulse@mastodon.nz That's probably 500 fewer cars competing for road space and parking in town... I'd think drivers would appreciate that
