@hyc What happens is one side of a fibre is +ve, while the other side is -ve. This is part of the plastic as it is extruded. So the net charge is zero and there is no leakage. You don't actually notice a charge at our scale, but to a micro particle it is very apparent since the fibres are huge in comparison. Regardless, it doesn't really matter which side the particle is near. Like an uncharged wall holding onto a rubbed balloon, it will still attach.
