I made fun of my husband for choosing to watch The Phantom Menace today, but the more I think about it, a story about trade disputes, a blockade, and a spineless Senate letting a dictator take over is actually pretty timely. #mayThe4th

@superflippy it's not THAT bad though the squirmy business of Lucas's racist mimicry of foreign accents (but in space!!) is a thing. Poor Ahmed Best, he probably regrets his Star Wars stardom

@superflippy I mostly remember it for the soundtrack and the final lightsaber battle. YouTube keeps putting videos of different orchestra playing that piece, "Duel of the Fates, and I watch every time
