@glamfrenzy Pretty sure it's just a funny barcode-like thing in the blanking area of the video signal (like teletext); shouldn't be hard to generate with the right circuitry. VHS tapes are an analogue recording of the video signal, so looking up how that worked for PAL and NTSC should suffice. Edit: ah, you've already received that answer.
