@shadsy
After seeing that I wouldn't be able to work on the at all, I finally broke down and agreed, through a 3rd party that was our contact, that I would accept a small fee for my time and effort.
He expected to sell a crazy number of digital issue at a rather high price and when that didn't pan out at all, they pretty much ended up costing us and I never saw a penny. 😂
Worst of all, since we worked with Dave, Steve Harris would not even talk to us anymore.
Such a mess.

@shadsy There's bunch more, some stuff that I've forgotten and other that isn't even worth brining up. But this was the point where I decided to not even bother with US magazines and their publishers anymore and solely focus on UK magazines. We always contacted the publisher back then to request permission to work on their classic magazine, wether that was publicly, or silent. UK publishers/editors and writers were so easy to talk to and I have nothing but praise for them.
